“If I pulled eight people from your business out into the hallway and asked them to tell me who your brand is, what you do, and why I should care, would their answers be consistent?”
As we’re talking to clients about their brand messaging, the response is almost always the same.
“No.”
As they continue their response, they share this. “I mean, I think they’d be close. Or, at least, I hope they’d be close. We have our mission statement and core values, so I think they know.”
There’s a lot of squishiness to that response, and as we all start 2025, we want to challenge each of you to reconsider that question one more time. What would it take to get everyone on your team answering these questions consistently?
