What Happens When You Connect People and Ideas Over Coffee & Bacon?

Last week, we (Kayla Dammann, Project Manager, and Madi Fortun, Graphic Designer) stepped away from the office to listen to social media case studies at Social Media Breakfast – MSP. It was a chance to learn, recharge creatively, take bold risks, and reconnect with what fuels us as marketers.

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”  – Wayne Gretzky

Hearing this hit us hard that morning. As an agency, we’re always pitching fresh ideas to clients to give their brands that extra bounce. Last month, we pitched a video campaign internally we believed would drive home just how close the MSP airport is to Fusion Learning Partners upcoming event. The timing didn’t align, but the potential stuck with us. Feeling inspired, we took the long way back to work and took a chance. Hours later, the campaign video was ready, and Fusion Learning Partners loved it. The risk paid off, resonating well with their audience and delivering our intended impact.

This quote echoed in each case study shared that morning, reminding us the importance of staying relevant means taking chances. The trick?

Ask yourself:

  • Is it relevant to the brand?
  • Is it relevant to the audience?
  • And can you add a fresh twist?

Without reflecting on these three simple questions, our idea wouldn’t have reached its full creative potential.

Listening to these case studies gave us clarity and the direction to boldly push the boundaries of our creative process. This introspection allowed us to connect deeply with the client’s needs, tap into innovative ideas, and ultimately produce more impactful content that resonated with their audience. Creativity doesn’t happen by chance—it comes from asking the right questions and trusting the process.

So, what do you do in today’s noisy social media landscape when staying in the safe zone won’t cut it? It’s about betting on your creative partners, leaning into audience lingo, and not shying away from trends. Whether crafting low-effort content for your social media profiles or launching a full campaign, engagement precedes follower counts.
